Harvest Integrated Research Organization (HiRO) and Differentia Biotech have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop advanced clinical trial simulation models. The partnership combines HiRO’s global operational experience with Differentia’s AI-driven modelling platforms, aiming to support biopharmaceutical sponsors in designing more efficient studies.
The agreement was formalised at an event at HiRO’s office, where leaders from both companies outlined their shared vision. The two entities intend to jointly develop commercial products and service offerings that address the growing cost pressures and efficiency challenges facing biotechnology firms today.
The collaboration will integrate HiRO’s data science and real-world data services with Differentia’s digital twin technology. This integration targets improved trial design and patient selection. The goal is to optimise trial timelines and potentially reduce the number of participants needed for successful studies.
HiRO CEO and founder Karen Chu described the strategic fit between the two organisations. She noted that drug developers require smarter trials, not just faster ones. Differentia’s modelling expertise complements HiRO’s operational discipline, the statement adds, allowing the companies to better support their mutual clients.

According to the document, the initiative will cover a wide range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, rare diseases, cell and gene therapy, and radiopharmaceuticals. This breadth suggests the partnership plans to apply simulation capabilities across diverse, complex therapeutic settings.
HiRO brings a substantial track record to the partnership. The organisation has managed trials for clients ranging from small biotech startups to large pharmaceutical companies across 85 countries. With more than 500 professionals, HiRO has delivered solutions for studies spanning Phase I through Phase IV.
Differentia Biotech is based in San Francisco and specialises in AI-driven decision intelligence platforms for the life sciences sector. The company develops tools designed to support decision-making throughout the drug development process.
